Confessions of a workaholic (and what I’ve decided)

The day I found out I could pee whenever I wanted to was a memorable one. It was right after I had graduated from college – (bear with me here, I promise this isn’t a story involving some strange bladder syndrome :)) I had landed a job in PR, my dream field at the time and was beyond stoked – I envisioned busy days immersed in Important Things, handling Important Matters. It all seemed so high-profile. I had forgotten to ask what the dress code was beforehand but that didn’t matter – I showed up to my first day in a …

Sometimes you gotta let it go… Why perfectionism keeps us stuck

I’m working on my wellness e-book this week and in the very final stages of editing and design (!!!) Coming to you soonly:) This e-book has been a labour of love and I thought I’d share the process of its development with you as I think it demonstrates something that happens to many of us. I’m talking about resistance. And namely striving for perfectionism. You see, I wrote my e-book rather quickly — over the course of just 4 days to be exact. That’s because I had carved out a long weekend for myself to hole up in the creative cave …

The Healing Power of Crying

When I mentioned in my last newsletter that I’d be taking a few weeks off from the blog, I anticipated that I’d be pretty booked up with some wellness projects, coaching, training, and work demands but Ohhh.. did I underestimate just how FULL my waking hours would be. Over the past few weeks I was so so grateful to receive some big opportunities to expand and grow myself, both work-wise and blog-wise. I definitely stepped out of my comfort zone as a coach, as a speaker, as a writer, and it felt so good to be moving in the direction of …

10-Days of Smoothies (+ 10 days of recipes!)

Lately I’ve been feeling the need to cleanse. I’ve noticed the tell-tale signs coming on… craving more sleep and feeling fatigued by the end of the day, lower energy than usual, and the urge to fill up on loads of colour and leafy green goodness. So I’ve decided to give my body a break and cut out some energy-suckers in my diet for a while. For me, this means no grains, processed sugars (fruit sugar is ok), or packaged snack foods like chips & crackers. I’ll be eating a combination of foods that support my body’s need to cleanse and provide …

Gorgeous skin recipe ~ My top 5 beautiful skin clearing tips

It still feels strange to me when I get compliments on my skin. You see, up until a few years ago, I used to have the worst skin – DRY all the time, even in the summer months. I would slather myself with lotion multiple times a day and not just any kind would cut it – I needed a buttery thick, heavy-duty kind. Applying large amounts of this lotion after showering was a must or else the dryness that followed would feel almost unbearable. Little did I know that all this pricey lotion wasn’t doing anything to address the root …
