About me

I BELIEVE IN WELLNESS

Not just the absence of disease but true mind-body-spirit wellness that has us feeling and operating at our very best.

We humans, I believe, are meant to thrive. We are meant to live lives full of Joy. Freedom. Radiance. Energy. Connection. Abundance. Not just some of us, all of us.

I’m here to help you rise.

Hi, I’m Diana

I’m a wild-hearted wellness explorer, an uplifter, a promoter of high vibes and light.

My heart beats to the sound of mind-body-spirit wellness, personal growth, freedom, and living life to the fullest.

As a transformational health coach and full-blown health nut, my work in this world is helping heart-centered women step into radiantly healthy and soulful lives.

I teach women to deeply nourish both their bodies and minds from the inside out. I craft conscious health and lifestyle routines that leave you feeling wildly lit up with energy and inspiration. I teach you how to trust your intuition and live from the heart – so you can fully show up as your best self and do what you’re meant to be doing in this world.

Cause at the end of the day, isn’t that what it’s all about?

Life was not always so aligned for me though. Once upon a time in a past life, I was a PR assistant – fresh out of college, knee-deep in the corporate world working 12-hour days. I’ve also been a marketing strategist and a director of operations. But for a long time I felt this nagging sense that I wasn’t doing what I was put here on this earth to do.

I’ve always had a gift at uplifting others. At transforming low energy and making people feel better no matter what they were going through. I just wasn’t sure exactly what to do with this.

But in 2013 I got my answer. That winter my life came to a crashing halt when I suddenly developed a mysterious condition in both my feet leaving me unable to walk or even stand up. Doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong; test results showed that everything was fine. Yet my caveman-sized feet most definitely were not fine. I became bedridden, unable to work, unable to leave the house, unable to even take care of myself.

As the months passed by and my condition saw no improvement, I gradually sank into a dark depression fearing that I might not ever be able to walk again. This woman’s book on recovering from cancer inspired me though – her self-healing story gave me hope and opened the door to viewing disease and illness in an altogether new light. And that’s when I began experimenting.

I poured my energy into self-healing from the inside out. I googled affirmations. I started meditating for hours and hours each day. I made it my mission to feel joy and excitement bursting out my heart for as much of the day as possible because I strongly believed this energetic vibration would be my ticket to recovery.

2013 me at the beach, a week or so after re-learning to walk!

It started working.

I began noticing small changes in my feet. Decreased swelling, less pain. Each day they were looking noticeably better. Within 3 weeks I was able to stand up and began re-training my atrophied leg muscles how to walk again with the help of a walker.

And that’s how The Wellness Explorer came about.

This self-healing experience changed my life and I wanted to share its lessons and wisdom to empower so many others in the world as well.

I wanted to teach others the power of our mind, of our vibration. I wanted to teach the importance of a daily self-care practice, as health is our most precious asset. Without our health, we simply are not able to do all the amazing things in the world that we are here to do. We cannot share our gifts and talents with others if we are not feeling well.

Finally, I strongly wanted to teach others to prioritise LIVING.

After healing my feet, I made a vow to myself that I would not take life for granted any longer. I vowed that I would fully participate in life instead of watching it pass me by.

Within a month of my healing, I had booked my first solo trip backpacking around the world – a travel goal of mine that I had dreamed about for years but had always been too chicken to take.

And I’ve never looked back.

+ Since then I’ve backpacked to nearly 20 countries around the world, all on my own. (See some of my travel posts here.)
+ I became certified as a health + life coach and started helping others heal their bodies and minds.
+ I started up a dedicated meditation practice and began spreading my love for meditation through private and group teaching.
+ I made a huge diet change to raw veganism, fell in love with this lifestyle and began mentoring others around it (see my post on why I became a raw vegan.)
+ I also made the scary decision to forgo full-time employment to concentrate on building my dream life.

Basically I decided to stop being afraid, stop making excuses, and start doing the things I had so longed to do.

The Wellness Explorer is my commitment to live more fully and intentionally and my mission is to inspire you through this blog to do the same. You CAN rise above it, no matter what’s happening, no matter where you’re at. This I know for sure.

Some random things about me:

+ I’m happiest when I’m out in nature. There is nothing in life that re-charges or inspires me more than being amongst forest, mountains, meadows, ocean. Bonus points if it’s sunny and warm there as well.

+ I’m a free spirit which means independence and adventure mean EVERYTHING to me. This quality also makes me chronically late to most everything, totally illogical at times and naive.

+ I’m a raw vegan (90% raw). This means that my diet is almost entirely made up of raw fruits and veggies. But I make a special exception for cooked potatoes because they are SO good and good for us.

+ I am a messy person. But I thoroughly appreciate clean, bright minimalism and try to keep my living space geared that way. Now if only I could keep this up when life gets crazy..

+ I’m an explorer at heart. The word “wanderlust” lights me up and makes me come alive. Next on my backpacking wish list? New Zealand, Patagonia, and Nepal.

+ If I could be anything in life, I would be a fairy.

+ When I’m not working or galivanting around the world – you’ll often find me wandering the farmer’s markets, immersed in a health book or podcast, creating mouth-watering vegan eats in the kitchen, or taking a kundalini yoga or ballet class.

If I could leave you with one piece of advice right now, it would be this:

Do not wait. Do not wait til you crash and hit rock bottom to start taking better care of yourself. Do not wait to be happy. Do not wait for that perfect time to finally do the thing you’ve been dreaming about so much it hurts. Because that perfect moment may never come. Life has a way of quickly passing us by when we’re not out there consciously creating. And as much as we like to think otherwise, we never really know how much time we have.

Do not wait. Live now.
