Diet update: 6 months fully raw vegan!

Just recently I celebrated a huge milestone — 6 months (half a year!!) of eating fully raw vegan! Gosh! That time has flown by and while I haven’t been able to give nearly as many updates and recipes and all that good stuff along the way as I wanted to, all that’s about to change (but more on that in a bit…) 🙂 This 6-month mark has me feeling incredibly proud of myself for simply keeping this up as long as I have! For staying with it, for finding ways to make it work when I was in less-than-ideal situations, for …

What I’ve learned after 2 months of being 100% raw vegan

As a follow-up to my last post earlier this month, I thought I’d take some time to write about several big lessons I’ve learned along the way whilst eating a 100% raw foods vegan diet. Never in my life did I think I’d go fully raw like this, let alone be able to maintain it for months! Yet here I am 2 months in and what’s more, still loving it! If you’re curious to try this way of eating either as a short-term cleanse (highly beneficial!) or even longer, here’s my personal experience so far along with some recommendations. First I’ll …

My raw vegan diet change – BIG updates!

July 4th just passed… and as I renewed the domain for this site, I realised it’s been 3 years since The Wellness Explorer was officially formed. I purchased this domain on the 4th of July 2013… I couldn’t even walk during that time but the desire to start up a blog was still there. My intent has always been to share my wellness journey, to share what I’m learning, to inspire others to thrive and take control of their health & diet. That intent remains the same to this day, 3 years later. I love that I get to share through …

Reasons why I love NYC

I’ve been away for a few weeks traveling and exploring New York City with a friend of mine. What a zany/exhausting/ eye-opening joyride of an adventure it’s been! As a New Yorker who’s lived here longer than anywhere else, I like to think I know the city well. Yet every time I venture into the thick of it, I’m still amazed at all there is to see and do and experience. All the different people from around the world who call this wild city their home, the melting pot of cultures, the stories, the dreams. I don’t always enjoy living in …

Confessions of a workaholic (and what I’ve decided)

The day I found out I could pee whenever I wanted to was a memorable one. It was right after I had graduated from college – (bear with me here, I promise this isn’t a story involving some strange bladder syndrome :)) I had landed a job in PR, my dream field at the time and was beyond stoked – I envisioned busy days immersed in Important Things, handling Important Matters. It all seemed so high-profile. I had forgotten to ask what the dress code was beforehand but that didn’t matter – I showed up to my first day in a …

Ode to creating space, dancing + a return to blogging

Well… hello again. It feels a bit strange to be posting here after such a long time away. And while I can’t entirely wrap my head around the fact that it’s been 8 months (?!!) since my last post, I can tell you that the time away has brought to light so many gratifying insights and revelations. Let me backtrack a bit here. I left this blog in late March of this year, after a series of untimely events required me to shift gears and focus all my energy on work. I’ll admit I struggled a lot with stepping away and …
